We have anticipated this journey for months and as the sun began rising across the eastern horizon our hearts began beating with anticipation of our next journey and what it would entail.
Sunrise as we descend into Santiago, Chile
Our bicycles arrived safe and sound to Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport and we assembled them in front of a beautiful living wall!
We would take the next couple of hours to re-assemble our bicycle equipment and begin the ride into Barrio Lastarria in the central part of Santiago, Chile.
The journey into Santiago was a mixture of agriculture, industrial, neighborhoods /“barrios” , and business districts that seemed to have a mixture of many European influences. And our first dining experience was almost to beautiful to eat.
Well our first hours in Chile 🇨🇱 have been quite an experience and we look forward to what we have in store for us as we continue our adventure along the Andean foothills, to the coast and further south over the next 2600 miles of our bicycle adventure.
